November Birthstone – Citrine & Topaz

Citrine is a beautiful variety of quartz that ranges from pale yellow to brownish orange. Topaz is often a pale-yellow color but can also come in many other colors including blue and orange.

Topaz has become much more affordable and widely available since the discovery of large topaz deposits in Brazil in the mid-19th century. Like Citrine, Brazil is the largest producer of quality topaz. Other sources include Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Russia, Australia, Nigeria, Germany, Mexico and the U.S., mainly California, Utah and New Hampshire. Topaz is also known as a soothing and it has been said to calm tempers.
